Last Saturday, Nikki and Dawn got married at the beautiful Chateau d’Argy in Brookville, PA!
I love white venues because they photograph so bright and airy. While outdoor or barn weddings are the current trend and beautiful for their own reasons, it worked out perfectly to have an indoor venue this day because we got a pretty nasty storm shortly after the ceremony.
If you don’t know Dawn and Nikki personally, let me tell you they are SO easy to get along with! From the second I arrived, Dawn was ahead of schedule and so laidback. The forecast didn’t intimidate her one bit!
Their wedding was a dream to photograph because everything was beautiful – from the flowers, to the dress, to the rings, to, of course, the gorgeous bride! Dawn was absolutely glowing, and the joy on her face and the sound of her laughter is so contagious. If only you could hear pictures! If you know her personally, you probably can 😉. I have no room to comment though – people usually know I’ve arrived by the sound of my laugh too! 😂
Dawn and Nikki chose not to do a first look, so of course I had to snag a picture of Nikki seeing his bride for the first time as she walked towards him down the aisle. His grin says it all! Dawn’s expression changed from huge smile to crying and back and forth with every image I snapped as she walked toward him. Her tears came and went through their custom vows, too. Their ceremony was simple and sweet, but still filled with so much love and joy. They even shared a hug after their first kiss – which is just as sweet to me as the kiss because it shows that they are best friends as well as husband and wife – which I personally think is the secret to a successful marriage ❤️.
The hour or two after the ceremony is always a whirlwind of portraits, dinner, and reception events. I absolutely love Dawn’s face as she smeared cake into Nikki’s…she looks 100% confident that she is going to win that battle!
Next, their best man and maid of honor blew it out of the water with their speeches. I think we all learned some things about the bride and groom we didn’t know before! You can watch their reactions move from surprised to laughing to touched as their two best friends shared memories and well wishes for the happy couple.
And finally, it was time to PARTY!!!
I knew the guest list was on the smaller side when I walked in and saw the tables for the reception. But let me tell you, that dance floor was the FULLEST I’ve ever seen! I still can’t believe that almost every guest was on the dance floor at one point or another, and most of them for a solid 2.5 hours!
Dawn and Nikki couldn’t have looked happier as they danced the night away with their friends and celebrated their new commitment to each other. I’m honored to have been chosen to capture this special day for them and I hope that these images do it justice to show off the joy and celebration that was felt by all!
Congratulations, Dawn and Nikki!
