A Wedding Day Love Story Worth the Wait
Some love stories take their time—and Kim and Jimmy’s wedding day was more than worth the wait. After seven years of dating (while also surviving dental school and medical school!), these two officially tied the knot a year ago. On their first anniversary, they brought their people together for the most beautiful celebration at the Barn at Willow Grove, a venue tucked next to a pond and full of charm.
A Relaxed, Rainy Morning
They were already married, but that didn’t make this day any less special—it made it more relaxed, more heartfelt, and more them. It rained off and on all morning and even through the ceremony, but the skies cleared just in time for portraits. We stepped outside into the softest post-rain light, and it honestly felt like the world slowed down just for them.
The Barn at Willow Grove: The Perfect Venue
The Barn at Willow Grove was the perfect setting for their day. When the rain came, there was plenty of space to hold the ceremony indoors without missing a beat. The entire bridal party had roomy on-site suites to get ready together, and with the ceremony and reception all in one place, no one had to worry about traveling. Guests could mingle easily with plenty of areas to gather both inside and outside, and the picturesque pond and scenery made the whole celebration feel extra special.
A Very Important Guest
Their sweet dog June was, of course, part of the day—and while she may have been a little overwhelmed with so much going on and so many people, we couldn’t leave her out!
The Sweetest Surprise
One of the sweetest surprises of the night happened during the mother-son dance. Their young nephew caught me peeking at him from behind my camera, and he decided right then and there to become my assistant. He came right up front and stood beside me for the rest of the dance. It was such a cute, unexpected moment—and one of those little things that makes each wedding day feel completely one-of-a-kind.
A Genius Reception Twist
Another unique and really fun part of the reception: instead of doing a traditional dollar dance, Kim and Jimmy sat on the dance floor, and guests came up one by one for a quick shot and a photo with them. GENIUS. Not only was it fun and personal, but it gave them a way to actually see and connect with everyone without the chaos of a crowded table photo dash (if you know, you know)!
A Day to Remember
From start to finish, this day felt like a celebration of not just love, but of everything these two have built together—with lots of patience, hard work, and a whole lot of heart. And the Barn at Willow Grove made such a beautiful backdrop for capturing every part of their wedding day!
