Photographing children may be a little busier than engagement sessions, but I love it!
I actually have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and ran a home daycare for years when my kids were young, so I’m not stranger to meltdowns or the terrible two’s.
My style is to let the child lead the session by following their cues as to posed shots or lifestyle shots. Most sessions tend to be a mix of the two, sometimes starting with group shots before they lose interest, sometimes ending with them when they get warmed up to the camera.
I promise to play peek-a-boo, make silly faces, tell corny jokes, and chase after your toddler if necessary to get some authentic smiles. In fact, these are usually my (and mom’s) favorites!
